Interview Update

So to keep everyone updated with my interview the other day - I think it went well. I met with 3 ladies of whom I would be working it and we chatted for an hour. Overall I feel I was a hit, but you just never really know.. ya know? The job is with a local CPA firm in their accounting department doing bookkeeping type of stuff and billing. They have good benefits (which is a plus considering my hubby is self employed. So when leaving they said they would talk and have HR send me this test (but not to be worried about the test.. {HA}). By 5pm I had an email from the HR department with my instructions... oooooh my!! Let me just share a few things with you about this test that I shouldn't be worried about:

A. Cognitive Ability Measurement (10 Minutes): This measurement consists of problem solving - calling on your logic, numerical, verbal and spatial abilities. NOTE: they said not to use a calculator and it was like 40 question..

B. Measurement of Administrative Proficiency: The M.A.P is a series of nine measurement dealing with speed and accuracy in routine administrative tasks.
  • Math Proficiency (6 Minutes) Again no calculator
  • Math Word Problems (8 minutes) Again no calculator
  • Numerical Error Checking (7 minutes) approx 40 questions
  • Proofing (4 minutes) approx 30 questions
  • Filing (2 minutes) approx 20 questions
  • Spelling (5 minutes) approx 40 questions
  • Vocabulary (3 minutes) approx 20 questions
  • Grammar (4 minutes) approx 20 questions
  • Reading Comprehension (3 Minutes) approx 10 questions

C. Personametrics Self-Assessment (Untimed - approx. one hour): The Personametrics Profile is a self assessment survey designed to help identify a participant's most comfortable organizational values, roles and attitudes. This is not a personality test and we encourage you to answer as you believe, not what you think the measure is looking for.

Ok so let me fill you in on a few things about myself here.. I AMthe worlds worst speller, I mean if I could just take a snap shot of my blog before the little ABC check button, you would probably laugh. They made spell check for a reason and that reason was for me, Me, ME, ME. They made calculators for a reason, I work in whole numbers, I'm a horrible test taker, I have my own vocabulary and I joke that English is my second language. So I giggled my way through the test with my sweaty palms in hopes that maybe just maybe I did better then I think -

to be continued......
