1st Parent Teacher Conference

October 19th was our first parent teacher conference and it went G.R.E.A.T - although SportyB and a little bit of a ruff start (even managed a few yellow and red days! Yikes) he has been nothing but Super Star Nose and greens the rest of the way. She had great things to say how well he is doing.

One project he had to draw a picture on one side and on the other side write why he liked Halloween (in his own words as he thought they were spelled). He wrote:

On hwn i lk dcrdg jackulrs aed par guos

This is called transitional - he is writing words the way they sound. For his age she said this was really good as he is hearing/understanding a lot of sounds in each word. Can you make out what he was saying above? It reads: On Halloween I like decorating Jack o lanterns and paper ghosts.

His school uses the Florida Assessments for Instruction in Reading to measure their progress he did great in this testing. He wants to read SOO bad and he is doing great with practicing and trying. He does tend to be hard on himself but he currently has the drive. We are proud of how well he is doing and he continues to be a great big brother.

We have also been working on riding his bike with no training wheels. Here is a video of our first days work.
